After the hype of Valentine’s, our school celebrates or rather combats “Blues Week”. Our wellness coordinator and administration team provides these fun activities and a staff lunch to boost building morale during the dark and cold winter. Here are some ideas to start your own Blues Week at work / school!
- Blue’s Clues Hunt
- Blue Jeans
- Blue Bags
- Potato Bar
- Bagel Brunch
- Staff Bingo
- Book Swap
So what is Blue’s Clues Hunt? Take a clipart image (like the one I made above) and print off a bunch of copies. Scatter them hidden throughout the school and have your staff search them out. No more than one collected in a day per person and at the end of the week, have a staff drawing for different prizes! (Examples can be: gift cards, a coveted parking spot, free jeans day, a coffee-run, G.O.O.S.E -Get Out Of School Early prize, etc.)
What’s with the blue bags…??
Blue Bags! Show your staff you appreciate them by loading a bag full of goodies. If you want to stay with a “B” theme you could throw in: brownies, bananas, berries, baby ruth’s, Belgian chocolates, baked goods, brain activities/ brain teasers, and more.
Get your staff to know each other better by compiling a “get to know you” board. If staff get a blackout they can throw their name into the hat for more prizes!
Hope you all can blow away the yucky blues with simple and fun ways to show your colleagues you care.
